My First Wargaming Post

Thanks to Henry Hyde of Miniature Wargames with Battlegames, I’m making my first ever wargaming blog post. It’s only taken a few minutes to get to this stage, but I now have the rest of my life to ruin what I’ve started.

I’ve decided to blog about siege warfare wargaming, which is my favourite thing, ranging from ancient times when the trumpets brought down the walls of Jericho, right up to modern times where NATO troops have found themselves under siege in Afghanistan and special forces have to plan to overcome hostage taking situations in ‘sieges’.

I imagine that my audience will be quite broad, as sieges have occurred throughout history, so whether your interest is Ancient Romans, Medieval Crusaders, the great Vauban or Stalingrad in WWII, I hope you will find something here to interest you, and I’m always happy to receive feedback.

I’m a very busy chap, so whilst I might manage to post updates more often, I’m only planning to update this once a month or so, but with quality content.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon!

A smashing taster, l really liked the picture of the breach.
l have both Marlburian and late C18th 15mm armies and am planning to include sieges in their campaigns. I also have some 15mm fortifications (can’t recall their manufacturer but they look very like your own) and am planning to use Duffy’s rules with some of Henry’s suggestions as set out in issue 12 of ‘ Battlegames’.
